ARTIST PROFILE
Growing up in rural Northern Lower Michigan, my reverence for animals and nature shows through in most of my creative work. My passion for art developed alongside my passion for animals.
My personal goal is to help diversify the kinds of characters that get depicted in visual media. If you don't see yourself represented in a medium, get to work!
I studied Visual Imaging Technology and Graphic Arts at the Traverse Bay Area Career Tech Center, Fine Arts at the Northwestern Michigan College, and Digital Animation at the Kendell College of Art & Design. I currently teach Animation at the Interlochen Center for the Arts.
My art is very inspired by fantasy and mythology. I am very influenced by high-magic settings and anthropomorphic characters in fiction. Anime and the Disney renascence movies were some of my most esteemed inspirations.
When I'm not drawing, I like to spend time with my dog & goat practicing and competing in different animal sports. We volunteer teaching kids how to work with their animals when we can spare the time. I also occasionally judge at policy and other forensic debate tournaments.
