Explainer Video - How To Pickle
With the goal to create an informative 30 second motion graphic I was inspired by my housemate's new interest in pickling. I interviewed him, created a script, illustrations, a graphic style guide, recorded him describing his process and incorporated video to create a short little introduction on how to pickle!
Heros Against Bias - Familial Exclusion
I worked with the EPIC Project and a class of other students to create a series of social media posts, ads, and visual teaching aids that help to communicate the ideas of the Heroes Against Bias. Heroes Against Bias aims to educate people on all sorts of social issues and give people language to advocate for themselves or others. I was assigned the theme of familial exclusion with the goal of creating media that could be shared on Instagram and potentially as a side bar ad on websites. The characters were actually inspired by a previous project where I helped design and create illustrations about a young mixed boy and his identity. The character worked very naturally in this theme of familial exclusion.

I was tasked with creating some promotional content for a local painter and the posters she sells. The majority of the focus was on the motion graphic qualities I added to her normally still paintings. We wanted to showcase to new audiences and non-locals that the work she does captures the inherent movement of the settings she paints. Later we added onto these motion graphics by incorporating more animation - featuring the artist's dog who accompanies her through all of her plein air painting.
Animated Page Dolls
Page dolls are imagery, usually .GIFS or .PNGS that can be added to a web page to enhance the layout, signal branding, or add something that's just a bit more fun for audiences to engage with. I use Adobe Animate to build characters into puppets, combine just a bit of frame-by-frame animation for visual interest to create these fun little motion graphics for other creatives and story tellers online. These kinds of animations take significantly less time to create than something done entirely frame-by-frame.
